A note from the board president…
As president of the board for Nature Through a Teen’s Eye (NTATE), I am in a unique position – responsible for promoting the organization and supporting the amazing teens that lead it while also being able to witness the incredible transformation that happens when teens share their love of the natural world with others. Often, while programs are happening, I watch the curious and intent faces of the kids as they interact with a variety of invertebrates, amphibians, and reptiles. NTATE teens provide the spark for that curiosity, and it leads to more discovery and a desire to protect the natural world that we inhabit. For years before NTATE even existed, kids (and their adults) knew our teens were the go-to people for exploring, explaining, and observing nature. With NTATE, our teens have a platform to provide programs, engage in research (something we are keen to do but haven’t yet figured out), and support conservation. I encourage you to get in touch with us if you are part of a nature-focused organization, lead a school or homeschool and might be interested in a program, or just want to offer some ideas to us as we grow. Thank you!
